We had hoped for a sun-shiny day for our second in our series of Vicsport Active Networking events but all to no avail... An enthusiastic group of Vicsport Professionals Network (VPN) members still braved the wet weather for the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the Australian Open. The tour took participants behind the scenes of Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena where they were treated to some sneak peaks and amazing facts about the tournament and the venue. Whilst the rain put an end to the ‘Get Into Cardio Tennis’ (GICT) session following the tour, attendees were still able to gain a great understanding of the program and its journey with Kristy Howes (GICT Business Development Manager) and Deanna Penman (GICT Program Coordinator) providing a fantastic overview and how they faced some of the challenges. They even managed to include one of the activities inside the Tennis Victoria office, demonstrating the flexibility and fun factor typical of a normal session of GICT. Active networking concluded with a presentation from Belinda Kleverlaan (Executive Manager - Participation) covering Tennis Victoria’s involvement and activations in the Australian Open and how they use the tournament to engage community groups from across the state. The second Active Networking event was again wrapped up with a delicious and healthy breakfast, providing attendees with a nutritious start to the day, whilst giving everyone the opportunity to network. Stay tuned for Active Networking Part 3 - Coming Soon! For all other VPN events, please see our events calendar. Find out more about Get Into Cardio Tennis. You may also be interested in...
