Welcome Meghan Albert, General Manager

Vicsport is pleased to announce the appointment of Meghan Albert in the role of General Manager.
Meghan was successful in gaining the position against a high number of well qualified and experienced candidates. Meghan comes to Vicsport with a strong background in sports administration including experience with governance, HR and policy development.
Most recently Meghan was the Operations and HR Manager at Bowls Australia. Meghan’s career in Bowls saw her progress through several roles over the past 8 years. During her time at Bowls Australia Meghan has been heavily involved with a number of major projects including implementation of the Bowls Good Governance Project and the development of an overall strategic plan for the sport of Bowls in Australia. Meghan has also worked closely with Government partners on numerous projects, and the staff and boards of Bowls Australia and all state associations on the Bowls Connect IT project and the National Awards event.
This year Meghan will complete her Masters in Sports Management at Deakin University. Meghan’s high achievement within the course was recently recognised with her being selected as Deakin’s Masters level representative as part of the San Diego Sports Consulting Program. This opportunity saw Meghan Co-Project Manage an initiative for the San Diego Padres Baseball Club on ways to leverage hosting the 2016 MLB All-Star Event.
Meghan’s main responsibilities with Vicsport will include maintaining Vicsport’s close relationship with members, funding partners, state government and other stakeholders. The role also includes the development of operational plans, monitoring and evaluation all initiatives, and Vicsport’s reporting requirements.
Vicsport CEO Mark McAllion said “I am very pleased that Vicsport has attracted a skilled sports administrator such as Meghan for the position of General Manager. Meghan’s skills and experiences are very well suited to Vicsport’s work and I look forward to Meghan being a valuable contributor as part of the Vicsport Team”.
Vicsport also acknowledges the work of its preferred supplier for sport employment, Sportspeople who assisted with the process.
Meghan will begin her role on 7 September 2015.
