Team Up with Vichealth's Free App

VicHealth’s TeamUp is a free app which encourages Victorians to connect with others through physical activities in their local area. TeamUp motivates people to be active, and to stay active.

The TeamUp community has thousands of users and provides opportunities across hundreds of sports and activities for people to get active when and where they want.

VicHealth CEO Jerril Rechter said TeamUp encourages Victorians to get active by making physical activity accessible, fun and social.

“One in four Australian adults is currently obese and by 2025 it is projected that more than three quarters of Australians will be overweight or obese. In our busy lives, there are many barriers preventing Victorians from increasing their level of physical activity – be it time, access to transport, cost or not having someone to exercise with. VicHealth’s free TeamUp app aims to help people overcome these barriers by linking them with opportunities across hundreds of free and low-cost activities.

“TeamUp can make it easier for people to increase their physical activity – particularly those currently inactive, or somewhat active. Finding the motivation to stay active can be hard, but TeamUp helps people make it fun and social. There are no memberships, no personal bests or records to break; it’s simply about teaming up.

“You can find an activity in your local area or create your own at a time and place that suits you – whether it’s going for a walk with others during your lunchbreak or meeting people for a run in the evening. It’s a social network for getting active so it’s great for your physical and mental wellbeing,” Ms Rechter said.

There are thousands of activities of varying skills listed on TeamUp - including walking, running, swimming, bike riding, yoga, pilates, Zumba, netball, basketball and group training.

TeamUp is available to download via the App Store (for Apple) or Google Play (for Android) or to use online at teamup.com.au. TeamUp is free and easy to use, and available to all Victorian adults.

VicHealth’s TeamUp can be used by both individuals and sporting organisations alike. Users simply download the app or go to the website, sign up and begin searching for local groups, activities and events to get involved in. TeamUp can also be used to create new physical activities, or to stay motivated by connecting with nearby training buddies.

TeamUp is a great tool for groups, teams, organisations, sporting clubs and physical activity providers to promote their events and activities to people in the local area.

Find your motivation. TeamUp.
