Vicsport announce University partnership with CSSI, La Trobe University
Vicsport is delighted to announce the Centre for Sport and Social Impact (CSSI) at La Trobe University have joined as a University Partner, strengthening the connection between sport, active recreation and impactful societal research.
As a sport research leader, the CSSI is changing the future of sport and physical activity by conducting real world research and engaging with industry and government.
Assisting organisations to be better educated and prepared to tackle some of the most significant issues facing society including physical inactivity, social exclusion, physical literacy and health issues like nutrition and obesity, the CSSI values and principles have evolved from over ten years of research and evaluation.
The CSSI’s guiding principle is exploring what works, for whom and under what conditions. The team is dedicated to supporting partners to discover the evidence required to develop and deliver better programs, initiatives and strategies.
Through this partnership, Vicsport will help to deliver the CSSI’s knowledge to the sporting industry and provide members with the latest news regarding their research.
The CSSI offer applied industry focused research, research conducted to solve real-life problems, tailored research and program evaluation services as well as bespoke training for sport industry professionals in sport management.
In addition to being partnered with Vicsport, the CSSI have worked with sport governing bodies, government departments and agencies as well as professional and community sports including AFL, AIS, Sport Australia, VicHealth, Regional Sport Victoria and Reclink Australia.

The Centre for Sport and Social Impact (CSSI) aims to increase human knowledge and strives for a better society through outstanding and impactful research.
The CSSI conducts real-world research and program evaluation in topic areas such as: physical literacy, membership retention, gender equity in sport, behaviour changes, inclusive sporting clubs and environments, working with disadvantaged and marginalized groups and sport and physical activity for the less active, women and girls and young people. .
The CSSI is a Research Centre based in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce and is affiliated with the La Trobe Business School.
