Sport Inclusion (All Abilities) Community of Practice: Media and Communication
Sport Inclusion (All Abilities) Community of Practice: media and communication
Can we be world leaders supporting inclusion for people of all abilities in sport and recreation? We believe we can, and can't see any reason why not.
Come and join like minded people in a community of practice from the community, education, health, disability and sport and recreation sectors to share experiences, best-practice and where to from here. The community of practice will have three parts; a panel presentation followed by a question and answer, a world café and a networking opportunity.
When: 1 October 2018. 3.15pm arrival for 3.30pm start
Where: Room 1.10, 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria
Contact: Shawn Stevenson on (03) 90969871 or email [email protected]
About the Community of Practice: it has been said that it is harder to be what you can’t see – so how do we increase what people can see? Better media and communications? Better cross promotion? Better sharing of existing knowledge?
This will be the first Community of Proactive in a series focused on inclusion and diversity of people of all physical and cognitive abilities of all ages within the Sport and Recreation sector of Victoria. Together, we will explore participation as recreational and high performance athletes, communication, participation in non-playing roles, employment and mental health ultimately be driven by you, the community.
This first session is focuse on communication and how to share best practice across the sport, health, education and disability sectors. For example, if Golf Victoria have a story highlighting the impact of golf for a young person with autism, how can I share this story to possibly motivate others to give golf a go? Might members of the I CAN Network benefit from knowing more about Golf Victoria programs? What are the next steps we can take together?
What is a World Café? The Corld Café is one part problem solving and two part speed dating. The world café will see a table captain remain at a table with a case stady they would like to share with the broader sector. Do you have an innovative idea you would like to share? A socal media strategy? An app? Somethin a pod cast would help share across the world? Volunter to be a table captain by contacting Shawn Steveson.
