Eligibility

All nominees for the Victorian Sport Awards will be required to fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

All nominees must meet the expectations of the Victorian Community Sport Code of Conduct.

All nominee contributions/achievements must have been achieved in the calendar year (January to December 2017).

All nominees must be considered as a Victorian in order to be eligible for any award. To be considered as a Victorian, the nominee must fulfil requirement (1), and requirement (2) OR (3). Please “tick” the criteria below as relevant to your nominee (i.e. requirement (1), (2) and (3), requirement (1) and requirement (2), OR, requirement (1) and requirement (3)):

(1) The nominee is a product of Victorian Sports System: They have contributed or participated in the Victorian sports system for a minimum of seven years (three years for juniors).

(2) The nominee is a resident in the state of Victoria: They identify their primary residence as a location geographically based in Victoria.

(3) The nominee was born in the state of Victoria.

Nominee Selection Criteria

The Sport Development Initiative of the Year award recognises organisations who have created a program, project or campaign, or implemented a plan, within the past 2-3 years which has provided significant benefit to Victorian sport during the 2017 year. The initiatives can be related to (but not limited to)
• Participation recruitment and retention programs
• Research

Is the Sport Development Initiative directed by a State Sporting Association, Regional Sports Assembly or Vicsport Associate Member?

Explain the impact of this Sport Development Initiative to the sport

Describe the impact of this Sport Development Initiative to participation within the sport

Were innovative approaches used in the nominated Sport Development Initiative?
