DON’T FORGET TO GET YOUR 2014 VICTORIAN SPORT AWARDS NOMINATIONS IN
Nominations close 31 December 2014
With another booming year in Victorian sport behind us, it’s time again to recognise the best of the best in the industry. With impressive performances across all sports including cycling, netball, swimming and hockey, the remarkable results are more than likely to be reflected amongst the nominees for the 2014 Victorian Sport Awards.
The Victorian Sport Awards are an opportunity for the sporting community to celebrate the best of Victoria’s premier athletes, coaches, officials, journalists, organisations and administrators and will recognise performances from January to 31 December 2014.
Eleven of the awards are open for nominations and will continue to be accepted from both Vicsport members and non-members. Whilst we have already received some really high quality nominations we’re looking to receive lots more, so it’s up to you to ensure that there are athletes from your sport vying for the top prize.
This year the Men’s and Women’s Team of the Year award has been merged to create the inaugural Victorian Team of the Year Award. This will open up the category to allow mixed teams to also be nominated, a great opportunity for a team that may have never had the chance to be in contention prior to 2014 and is likely to be a highly competitive category from this year forward.
The awards that you can still nominate athletes for are;
- Victorian Junior Athlete of the Year
- Victorian Junior Team of the Year
- Victorian Masters Sport Award
- Best Sport Development Initiative (Vicsport Full Member)
- Best Sport Development Initiative (Vicsport Associate or LGA Member)
- Vicsport Media Award
- Victorian Official of the Year
- Victorian Coach of the Year
- Victorian Team of the Year
- Vicsport Male Athlete of the Year- Frank Wilkes Award
- Victorian Female Athlete of the Year- Kitty McEwan Award
Each of the eleven awards open for nominations aim to recognise participants that have stood out amongst the crowd and have made an impact. Whether it is a junior that has had an impressive achievement on the field or a coach that has continually supported their team, the categories are open for you to suggest someone who deserves some recognition.
The winners of the 2014 Victorian Sport awards are likely to be representative of the highly successful year in Victorian sport and we’re still looking to receive lots more nominations prior to 31st December 2014 to make certain that the categories are filled with outstanding competition.
With nominations for the awards closing on the 31st December, you’ve got less than one month to get in the running to take home a prestigious award. It’s up to you to get your nominations in on time to ensure that the best nominees are in contention for a highly sought after award at the 2014 Victorian Sport Awards.
