COLLABORATION THE KEY AS LEADERS CONVERGE

Vicsport's Leading Thinkers Forum held today at the Donkey Wheel House in Melbourne's CBD saw some of Victoria’s leading thinkers in community sport gather to discuss and reflect on the changing landscape in which they operate. The forum was a part of Vicsport's Forward Thinking Series, delivered with support from VicHealth, which aims to build industry capacity to respond to the changing business of community sport, and get more people active through sport.

The forum, facilitated by Collabforge, was a highly productive meeting of minds, examining challenges facing community sport. Discussions focused on strengthening industry collaboration, better defining the social return from sport and taking a customer-centred approach to get more people active through sport. Among the twenty attendees at the Forum were participants from State, Regional and National Sport organisations; VicHealth and Government departments; Local Government; professional sport clubs and Academic institutions.

This group of thinkers will meet again later in the year to revisit their ideas, consider the outcomes of other activities in the Forward Thinking Series and develop strategies for practical implementation and industry capacity building.

The next event in the Forward Thinking Series, Innovation in Action: Generating Ideas Simply and Quickly, is a practical workshop that will improve participants capability to be innovative, and generate game-changing ideas simply and quickly. It will be held on Thursday, March 19 at the Abbotsford Convent, less than 5km from the Melbourne CDB. This workshop is offered free of charge but space is strictly limited. The session is likely to be oversubscribed and participants are encouraged to register ASAP.
