Pathways to Participation: Engaging Older People in Physical Activity

Victorian Active Ageing Partnership 2016 Research and Practice Forum

The Victorian Active Ageing Partnership (VAAP) aims to increase opportunities for participation in physical activity for older Victorians, especially in areas of socio-economic disadvantage and among isolated, lonely, older people not currently involved in physical activity. MOVE muscle, bone & joint health* is coordinating the VAAP on behalf of the Victorian Government and in collaboration with Fitness Australia and Monash University.

The VAAP Annual Research and Practice Forum titled ‘Pathways to Participation: Engaging Older People in Physical Activity’ will be held on Thursday 25 August 2016 in Melbourne. The purpose of the Forum will be to improve the knowledge and capacity of relevant service providers to successfully engage older people in physical activity opportunities.
