World Congress on Elite Sports Policy

SPLISS (Sports Policy Factors Leading to International Sporting Success) proudly announces the World Congress on Elite Sport Policy. The conference is organised by Victoria University in close cooperation with the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands) and the Sheffield Hallam University (United Kingdom).

The conference theme aims to bring together different perspectives on elite sport success. Who or what are the winners when it comes to participating in, or owning and hosting elite sport events. Beyond building elite sport development systems that do (or do not!) deliver medals, what are the outcomes that elite sport systems are delivering to various stakeholders? There is a growing awareness by national governments and their leaders that elite sporting success can be produced by investing strategically in elite sport. Who are the winners?
